If you don't have press and peel this method works on knives as well... http://www.riccibitti.com/pcb/pcb.htm This is a good explanation also of how the transfer process works.

Also rather than using a scouring pad, try thinners or nail polish remover, ino chance of scratches on the finish
I can get a small mono laser printer for £50 delivered, that is about the price of 15 press 'n' peel sheets. You get 700 pages of toner with it. So i am thinking of this method. what do you peeps think (magazine paper is free)

I've not tried it with magazine paper but I think you'd have to take a more delicate approach. I can get loads of logo's and text per press n peel sheet and it gives me pretty good results I think.

    Re: Etching the Bushblade way

How do you get this to work??
I set up a simple test with 9v battery, speaker wire, cotton bud for the applicator, salt solution and i got bubbles but no markings as such. the steel was just some mild steel i had for testing. is nail polish or the iron on stuff important to get it started?

    Any help much appreciated
    Ian

    fantastic tutorial mind!

Make sure you have the battery the right way around. A pp3 battery would be ideal but it must be the correct way for this to work mate.
