Boker Plus XS - Heads up!

Heinnies haven't yet got the new Chad Los Banos slippie up on their website, BUT they have got it in print in their catalogue issue #4 that I received this morning.

£34.95 list price, order code 01BO536

Just emailed Olly and asked him nicely to add one to the back order for my sleeping bag

It is quite yummy looking. Surprised to see no choil jimping, perhaps.

Knowing Chad's stuff it will be light and strong with good ergonomics and solid build quality.

He's rather good at getting money out of me.

A slippy with a thumbstud.... superb. An easy-peasy OHO slippy. Now we're talking.

4oz weight? Very heavy that, actually. Sure to be a tank in its class.

440C blade steel. Okay by me. Wonder why it ain't the usual AUS 8, mind you.

Quite tempting. I wasn't in the market for a new slippy, but that one makes my wallet twitch a fair bit.

Flippin' marvelous! I've been waiting for this for ages. The order code isn't working on the sites speed order thingy so I'll call tommorrow. Groovy.

It does look rather good. I would happily pay another fiver for AUS8 though.

    I hope someones listening.

i always thought aus8 and 440c were supposed to be pretty similar maybe with aus8 being a little easier to sharpen. is that why you would prefer aus8?

The composition is different but in real world performance seems to be similar. Heat treat makes more difference in the end performance than the composition differences.

Exciting times! Böker is realy coming out with some interesting models. I have several Chad Los Banos designs. I am even doubling up on certain models, one user and one for the cupboard. This one looks like a user! By the way, has anybody gotten hold of some of the new Vox designs?

AUS 10 and 440C are similar...
AUS 8 is down on carbon from 440C...

Question - those extra holes in front of the thumb stud, what are they for? Can you move the thumb stud ?

I'm guessing they're decorative. If so, and if they're visible with the blade closed I'll be filling them with glow epoxy probably
