Re: Boker Plus XS - Heads up!

Does anyone know what the delay is with the XS. Heinnie said there was some sort of problem. Anyone have any info?

Re: Boker Plus XS - Heads up!

I rang them last week asking exactly that. They said they were still waiting for them "hopefully within a couple of weeks"

It's interesting when knife companies bring out a new exciting knife. I think the advertising generates a wave of excitement and then that company has to be able to deliver the supply of knives just as the excitement wave peaks.

If not there's a bit of a danger of missing the wave. I don't think this will happen with this model as we aren't exactly spoiled for choice for OHO EDC slippies at the mo. This has happened for me with lockers though. I've got all excited about one, then they haven't materialised and then something else catches my eye.

Anyway the race is on! Spyderco FRN UKPK vs Boker Plus XS

First one to arrive at Heinnies gets my custom

    (Heinnie wins either way)

(Ok so I will probably get both eventually)

    I was thinking the same.

I did email Heinnie's on this a few weeks ago. They said they would be getting in and would let me know.

I would have thought Boker would want these released in the UK before the Spyderco FRN UKPK arrives.

I spoke to Heinnie today about these and they said there is a manufacturing problem and they are now expecting them in December!

So I thought sod it and ordered a UKPK FRN instead to make myself feel better

Has any one tried the trance 42? they are shown as being in stock. Picked up a trance for EDC in the states and I wouldn't mind the UK legal one if they are any good.

Yes I'd be interested to hear about the trance too. Although the XS looks a better shape from the pics.

I have one and wrote a short description of the spring mechanism here. I like it very much.

Apart for the lock it's exactly the same as the regular Trance. Same blade, frame and scale. The only difference is the butt of the blade - the part at the other end from the point - is round, not flat.

Here's a few photos that might help. Top one is the Trance 42, bottom is the locking Trance from Bullseye's review.

Had the heinnie mag come today with these in, shame they are delayed. £35 if it's not already known.

December has come and gone but no sign of these yet. Why are they taking so long?

Actually spoke to Heinnies yesterday about these and they have been on their shipping order once or twice but then have been delayed again.
They are 'supposed' to be in their shipment for next week.

Re: Boker Plus XS - Heads up!

They called me today and said it was in stock if I wanted to order it there and then as I'd pre-ordered in April. At the time I had the kids so was up to my elbows so didn't order. Maybe I should have ordered to compare against the FRN UKPK..... :-/
