    My 3-rd knife. Helle Nying

    Greetings from Russia!
    My debut at Britishblades.com

Blade: Helle Nying, size 70x21x2, 5mm.
Handle: Moose horn, red fiber, birch. Dimensions 95x27x20mm. Birch slightly toned brown.
Finish: Oil Tikkurila SUPI sauna bench protection, Danisch oil, Carnauba.
Sheath: Iranian vegetable tanned leather, thoroughly imbued with wax for shoes. Runes (Inguz and Berkan, you can look at Wikipedia) - the wish of the customer. These runes, in addition to the direct value, are the initials of his wife.

I hope my English is not very bad, and everyone understood what I wrote

I like that especially the hat sheath. Not a handle shape I would think of using but I do like it.

Hi and welcome to BB, Bzzzz!

You did a great job on the knife and the sheath.

Interesting, very comfortable shape of the handle and proper workmanship. Nice proportions and appealing materials, very well executed. The sheath is great as well, we don't see those hat sheaths too often. Congrats on your third one, looking forward to your further work.

The customer and his wife will like it very much, as i do!
    Cheers
    Harald

Hahahaaaa! Nice bit of creative thinking! I have some of that same SUPI stuff, but never thought of using it for a knife. Did you put that on first, then Danish oil?

Great result for only your third knife. I like the handle shape, it's unusual but looks to fit the hand nicely and looks good. Nice bolster fit. Great sheath, unusual especially for a beginner, but very well finished. Maybe the white thread is not ideal, but that's a matter of taste and also what you have to hand - I've always struggled to find a good thread. I like the whole package.

Yes, first SUPI, then Danish oil. Well absorbed and beautifully highlights the texture of wood.
At forum.zadi.ru a sequence (SUPI, Danish, carnauba) is the standard finish

Then I got to the sheath and thought "WOW!!! This guy is a genius!!"

The Helle Nying is a great choice of blade, one of my personal favorites! I like the handle shape and the hooded sheath, these are not as common as they should be in my opinion, especial for a small neck type knife. It looks great and I look forward to seeing more of your work!
