Re: Govt. launches 'Your Freedom' - could it help?
If deleted, it could be due to the mentioning of Mount pleasant in the suggestion, maybe that is breaking the 'civil service code'
or.......or perhaps Chris have exposed a top secret government operation to disarm the UK population

Re: Govt. launches 'Your Freedom' - could it help?
Haha, yeah well I haven't had any reply from them ... maybe they didn't like me making 2 knife-related suggestions and an admin thought that the second was a duplicate?
Would anyone else like to try posting the second one? I think I took the text in this thread and adjusted it a bit before submitting but I can't remember exactly how it went.

Don't worry about avoiding temptation, as you get older, it'll avoid you.

Re: Govt. launches 'Your Freedom' - could it help?
I've just received a reply from the admins at YourFreedom:
I have just replied, asking them to put my idea back:Your idea was similar to one that had already been submitted on the site. You can continue your voting and discussion here:
http://yourfreedom.hmg.gov.uk/repeal...gravity-knives
We'll see what they say to thatMany thanks for getting back to me on that missing idea ... I'd like to make some follow-up comments, if I may:
1. Could your system inform the poster of an idea when it has been deleted and why? This would reduce confusion because I was worried that I had somehow broken a site rule or there had been some kind of technical glitch ... I had no idea that you had deleted it because you thought it was duplicated.
2. I would beg to disagree with your main assumption - my idea was far more measured and did not go as far as the one you left behind. The poster of that idea is aiming to over-turn huge swathes of the UK knife legislation but I was putting forward a much softer approach, just tackling one of the most unjust parts. By deleting my idea you have left behind only an idea that even I would not support because it
is impractical, has absolutely no chance of being adopted and is not well presented.
Could you please put back my idea and any votes/comments that have already been submitted to it?

Chris, you said this:
By deleting my idea you have left behind only an idea that even I would not support because it is impractical, has absolutely no chance of being adopted and is not well presented
Which is exactly why they have deleted your idea and kept the other.

This so called consultation has to be a success, so nothing vaguely controversial can be allowed to gather support from reasonable people. Anything worrying for Our Masters will be presented as suggestions from scary nutters, or removed.

I've had a reply from them as well, asking me to vote for the 'switch blade & gravity knives' instead
the bloody cheek of it
And now, instead of insufficient privilege the site state the page does not exist anymore.
Chris, if I were you I'd re post your proposal.

I'm getting giddy at the thought of the big society, always been a fan of the co-op.

I can still remember me mams divi number, 21803.

I used to walk to co-op with thrupence and me mams divi book, get half a pound of loose butter, a loaf in grease proof paper and half a dozen rashers of bacon cut from the slicer for me dads tea, and still have enough left for a tram ride home.
