They do take a good edge I,ve found, and you can tighten or loosen the blade easily, but they are quite heavy for pocket carry, I carry mine in a belt sheath.

I've played with half a dozen different Citadels over the years. Generally I think they are well made knives and offer a refreshing choice to the more mainstrem brands and styles.

Re: citadel buddy
Just received a Buddy this morning - it is a bit shiney, almost as if it has been chrome plated, but I guess just highly polished.
I must say it's a bit too 'bling' for my taste and intend to make it more matt.
Are they all shiney - the photo's I've seen don't show it quite so reflective?
Cheers,

Re: citadel buddy
Good thinking with the vinegar - not too sure about licking it though

I was thinking of trying lemmon juice - I guess any weak acid would do.
Even the forged area on the upper part of the blade is too smooth to grip for opening.
Got a REALLY good edge after a few strokes on the brown Sharpmaker sticks though.
So apart from the excessive polished finish - very pleased.
Cheers,
Tony
