Personally, I'd love to see a slipit Lava, especially if it involved carbon fibre.

This is never going to end! We might want to run a survey for that one. Is it possible to add this with the editing? (only if you guys see this a good idea of course)

2 things and we can build from there.

    do we want

    a) a uk legal

    b) a locker

and I think if its a we go with some thing that more modest in size than the ukpk may be a mid urban/ukpk bright colors etc

Maybe the spyderhole could be moved further forward and made smaller to be used like a scagel instead of a nail nick. I think they have to have the hole as part of their trademark.

I think price is going to be the major factor because the knife will not be on general sale so it means that BB members have to accept it in large enough numbers to warrant Spyderco making it in the first place. I'd love to be able to justify a locker but right at the moment, in 2010, SLIPITs are much more acceptible. Also, we have just seen the release of the FRN UKPK and this package comes in very cheap (cheap enough that many of us ordered 2 or more) and, with the variations already on offer, it seems that Spyderco are happy to produce different colours and styles of FRN UKPK ... so a precident has been set. I just feel that if there is a forum knife then it would have to be based around the UKPK FRN - with one or two small changes

I would dearly love to see a Spyderco forum knife for BB but I really hope it isn't a variant of the flawed FRN UKPK.

I am with you here. Despite not liking Slipits that much I believe that they would be an easier purchase for a larger majority. Sal, any idea of a minimum workable volume for you to consider building such a forum knife?

Interesting idea... how about an FRN version of the Urban? Although maybe that's in the works already.
