    John, you're proper friggin' mental!

Have you shrunk in the wash or something?

Seriously though, what sort of stuff gets turned on a lathe that size?

Now I know why this section is called 'BIG Boys Toys'.

What the heck are you going to make with it, it's huge!
Frank Mclaury: You're next on my list, Holliday. You better get used to seeing my face, 'cause it's the last thing you're gonna see.

Doc Holliday: McLaury, seeing your face would be a pleasant change. I understand most of your enemies got it in the back.

Do you actually sell any of this stuff or just keep it in that little shed of yours?

Re: My new lathe arrived today!

I have to sell some stuff, the rent and rates on the sheds would make your eyes water!

I bought this one ( it will turn 2 mtrs dia, x 1.2mtrs high) for making clutch plates for the power presses we work on. the clutches can be 10' diameter! I was thinking about a smaller one and saw this on ebay

Ive no work for it at the moment but before the big 'stop' in manufacturing I was sub-contracting lots of vertical turning work, it makes sense to bring it back in house (when it cames back, and its showing signs, at last!) Weve got a machine operator that is good on vertical turning, so it makes sense to up the anti on the size of machines.

We did own a heavy machine shop (30 ton max component weight) 5 years ago but sold it, we had vertical lathes that would turn 12' then! , I got pretty proficient at all things heavy machining back then, and would like to slowly get back into the sub contract game..... time, not enough of it

Ill put some vids up when shes running.

Can I come work for you? Your job is much more interesting than mine and you've got better machines. I could finally use my machining degree again. I had to give it up when all the machine shops where I worked went out of business.
