I think you may have trumped me sir... had a look through and filing seems right. Down to me being lazy and thinking how to do it faster...

Ive worked it out.

Cut a grinding belt down the middle to be a max of 1" and you should only hit the ricasso and the slot for the bolster so should work?

Ah, see I have a 1" grinding wheel in any case. Could well work though.
