    After a long wait...

...they arrived today! These blades is one of the nicest handmade blades I have ever seen, hair popping sharp and gorgeous craftmanship with a very nice forged finish on them. One is on commission, I ordered the other one as an extraas the waiting time is about 6 month, but I have not yet decided what to do with it.

So here they are, Jukka Hankala "Tuhkuri" blades. This is going to be fun!

    Re: After a long wait...

The plan for the commissioned one is masurbirch and brass guard. For the other one I am not sure at the moment. A mix of a sturdy guard and buttplate of brass with some birch bark, antler and wood in between feels quite ok for the moment. But buffalo horn and brass always works, gold om black...hmm..

Congrats, Karl-Erik, to those fine blades. I'm sure you'll turn out some beautiful knives with them. I'm already looking forward to it. Don't let us wait too long, mate

Very nice blades K.E. I'm sure you'll do something special with them.

    Hi David!

The steel is 4mm thick, the blade is 110mm long and the height of the blade from beginning of spine to beginning of edge is 30mm. And the forged surface is sooo nice!

    Cheers,
    Karl-Erik

    Hi Harald!

I have some commissions to make first, but then... It was worth the wait.
