Nope. Straight up. I think it would look good and, done right, be perfectly effective

    Not for you though?

Every Spydie needs a hole though, surely? Anything else would be sacrilege!

Thank you Sal, stainless would be good and if possible something different than S30V. Not that I dont like it but I would like to try something different.
I recently bought my first Spyderco, a Ti UKPK and I love it!

I think it would look good when new but would soon fill with crud.

I fear it would also compromise one-hand opening, particularly in the native platform.

I also wonder if it would be a bit cheeky to ask Sal to relinquish the Spydie trademark.

In have just read the post about the spydie hole, and after 4 pints of stella it all makes sense. And I understand it perfectly. Just don't ask me to explain it.

Now the important bit, how do we get on the list for purchasing such a hole, last time i said that it got me a slap!)

    Well thats me told!

Ah the joys of semantics...what I suppose I should have said is that without Spyderco's recognisable trademark cylindrical blade tunnel, it just wouldn't feel like a true Spydie? I say tunnel, as if it didn't pass all the way through the blade then it would merely be a cylindrical blade cave, no?

No, no, no, no, no. Look this is all really very simple.

The capacity that XHP allows a hole - that is: to fall into itself once started - means that the hole does go right through, but only from the side the hole was started.

For example, you are able to put a pencil through the hole from one side of the blade, even spin the knife around on it, but the hole isn't visible from the other side (where the BB logo will go).

Surely this would be a cavity?

Well, maybe, but I think there is something of the technology common to inter-dimensional portals at work in there somewhere

Ahh got it, so if you stick your finger into the spydie hole, it will come out of the lanyard hole, no?

How about making the Hole a Reuleaux heptagon would make it different than any other spidy and a simple convenient place to store an emergency 20p coin that can be quickly be deployed at the Vending machine with a flick of the wrist

liners would be good as it will make after market custom scales easier to fit

Or the hex fit that would take a screwdriver bit ala Rob Evans bushtool, handy!
