"When cooking on a camp fire it must be cool enough to cook on so it needs to burn down to coals, at least in parts. It is customary to drink beer while waiting for the fire to cool down.
I recommend starting with a very big fire"

I should pop in there tomorrow, see if they have any left.
If work was a good thing, the rich would have it all and not let you do it.

No, they are perpetually sold out

Design of the cruiser means that mine rarely freeze (I use the -36 Holts stuff from Costco neat all year round, anyway), I just fancied having some available as a back up, just in case.If work was a good thing, the rich would have it all and not let you do it.

Re: Frozen skooshers on Defender
The jets on my Fiats have been frozen since the beginning of the ice age. Bumper insulation, jet and engine design to blame I think. The routing of the thinnish tube just shouts "Freeze Me".
Since most folk within driving distance have either run out or only have -5C stuff, I've been looking at 'homebrewing' some screenwasH. Meths freezes at below -100C, so a mix of meths and water should do it.
Hunting around I found this table -pick your concentration for the temp you want protected to...

You can start with cheap screenwash, of course, rather than water, and just add any industrial alcohol to lower the freezing point. Don't go too much further than you need so the evaporative cooling effect doesn't chill your screen...Last edited by Basemetal; 19-12-10 at 12:47 PM. Reason: Oops... bobo in the table , now fixed :o)
Just do stuff. The kit doesn't have to be perfect.

Re: Frozen skooshers on Defender
I've got 5 litres of pure methanol as a back up, I can get that out to 12 litres and still be fine, it seems. I've still got 15 litres of the Holts stuff as well, I could probably wash both cars in the stuff and still have left overs

Where'd you get your methanol?

Re: Frozen skooshers on Defender
Sorry mate, missed the replies to this thread last week until it got bumped today.
My own research found that very thread too, and I was about to make up a set when I found these on ebay.

Where else?
Ebay
They sell a surprising variety of stuff that will maybe get you on the wrong kind of watch list. If you ever need any Acetone, PM me, I may have overbought when I got some

My garage of goodness, obviously.
You'll want to be careful with it mind, it absorbs straight through your skin and gives you a very bad time. I have no idea how they can sell it for wiping on your fingernails. Price of beauty, I suppose

I assumed the defatting of fingers was considered a benefit rather than a drawback

Chemists sell it at £1.95 for 10ml, that place sells it at £5 a litre
