Re: SRM, Bee, Enlan, Navy n Ganzo knives Fan post

I didnt read the whole thread, but how much beating do they take compared to say a spyderco? I suppose it's a bit unfair to compare them at the price difference, but just as a reference.. would anyone use this knives for diy/edc (when legal)?

suppose one dont have to be afraid to use them (I don't really trust folders, for some unjustified reason), if it breaks it breaks.

Still waiting for my EL-01... better not have been snatched away by the Customs faeries.

My 710 seems to be taking everything well, no blade play at all, haven't used it super hard but I use it for most things. The tip bent (I presume after I stabbed it into a rotten tree trunk and pried large chunks off it, but I can't be sure). I noticed it one day and managed to bend it back by stabbing it into something and forcing it the other way. It stays sharp long enough and the action is still smooth.

I've edc'd several Enlans and Ganzos now and they really are tough as old boots. Bear in mind that some of the Spydercos for definite and almost certainly other western brands are made in the very same factories and you'll get an idea.

I'd have no problems using many of them as EDC knives and I'm sure they'd take being used hard perfectly well.

An Enlan-EL01 can take a beating : rest assured !!!! And should it brake (ALL knives can be broken - it just depends on the means used to brake one!!) - you will not be out of much pocket £££'s !!

    HEADS UP !!!!!!

Exduct are now finally selling that special tool for the weird pivot screw on some Enlan knives : those requiring a three prong giggemadoodle to adjust them !!

Liking mine so far, thanks HTG.

The 710 is easily the best folder i've owned, though that should tell you as much about the folders I've owned as it does about the 710

It's nice though, I keep playing with it. Flick, close, repeat ad nauseum. Been using it a bit in work too - it cuts as it should and hasn't gone dull yet so it's good enough for me. Solid too.

And the HO3 (I think I got that right, not sure) is a nice little handy/legal thing. Strong ish spring, which I like. Only dislikes are the bottle opener, a personal thing, I don't really drink, and the way it's too small to not lose but too heavy for my (already loaded) bundle of keys. And the Spydie hole, but only because it's too small for me to OHO so I just use pinch grip, rendering the hole useless. I ramble - my point is if it were a little bigger and had no bottle opener it'd be a perfect candidate for permanent residency in my pocket, especially at the price.

I want one of those Enlans just to play with, but I can't go buying more knives I'm not allowed to cary every day regardless of reason, and work is covered by a leatherman + a fixed blade if I fancy it. But I can be weak. And I do like knives. So maybe, who knows.

Gonna thumb-flick that 710 open a few more times.

They are solid knives and as far as you can trust any folder I would trust these .If you take a look on youtube particularly regarding the EL-01 you will see just how much abuse my favourite folder can take

I wonder if they have a tie in with Exduct or something, they're also selling the Taidea Sharpener as well.

i would say they are more likely to have agreements with the manufacturers, particularly as they have the knives as own branded.

Started to customise some NAVY and SRM knives. Overall the fit and finish of the NAVY knives is a little hit and miss. Some of them have been good and others have needed work. While the finish and fit isnt as good as SRM or GANZO they still function great. I have used the part serrated 631 for a while(its one of the old ones before they flat ground them) and its always been solid as tool. Out of the box I would recommend polishing the washers, oil and cleaning the liners if they feel gritty or stiff.

I took these pictures so you could see.

Fantastic if you want to try your hand at customizing without the expense. By taking away the worry of ruining a really expensive knife I think I got better results as I wasn't being overtly cautious.
