TD5 alarm procedure for battery disconnect.

I have a vague recollection of reading that there is some sort of procedure you can follow when disconnecting the battery on a TD5 landrover that stops the din and possible fob sync issues when reconnecting.

Does anyone know if this is the case, and if so, what it is?

When I had my TD5 I found a mind of information on www.forum.landrovernet.com and having had a quick glance there are some threads on this subject. I am sure someone will be able to answer your question faster than you trawling thru the forum, but it was a mindfield of info. Hope that helps in a non-helpy sort of way ATB

Hi Mojofilter, this is what says in my hand book,

    1. turn the starter switch on and then off, then remove the starter key.
2.disconnect the vehicle battery WITHIN 15 SECONDS. (if it is not diconnected within 15 seconds ,the back up siren will sound immediatly the battery terminals are disconnected).

    hope this helps, Alan.
