    Recommend a belt sander

I need a belt sander to grind bevels in knives, scandi, convex, and flat grinds...
    Preferably under 300 $ (183 pounds?)
Are there any good ones for that price?
    Thanks,
    Mitch

Not sure whats available in the USA but in the UK Axminster tools do some belt sanders which can be adapted to use.

    Re: Recommend a belt sander

I have an ancient pre-Wilton Square Wheel 2x72 belt grinder that some misguided fool was literally throwing away. It works great with some modifications as to wheel size to slow it down a bit as per Ed Caffrey's website advice. Ed has one he has used for years. Keep your eyes peeled-- there may be others out there.
