    Shogun insurance

i was hoping to insure with Frank Pickles this year, as i got a quote about 6 months ago for just over £200. however, it seems they have pulled out of the 4x4 market due to misrepresented policy info (mods and mileage info).
i've been using the shogun as a runaround, but diesel is too dear now, so i'm looking to just have it as a laner, and share Mrs g's car, and have my no-claims on her motor.
any recommendations for insurers that will cover me on a low mileage(<3000) laning policy without needing my no claims?

    Re: Shogun insurance

not sure if this link helps, but they insured my landy on limited mileage (10000 mile a year) and it was cheap although I cant remember how cheap, but I stayed with them for 3 years until I left UK, may be worth giving them a call.

yup me too and a club discount from them brought the cost down even more. they are quite happy with mods to vehicle as long as you declare them and also cover you for greenlaning.

tried Flux - £100 more than i'm paying now
i'm gutted Frank Pickles has stopped, as the £200 quote didn't require my no claims. with the missus paying £1300 a year for her little roller skate, we stood to save a bomb buy just using mine for fun, and using hers as the daily car

all insurance policies should cover you for green laning: they're public roads.

Mine with them is cheap mate, its who I use and they are the most helpful people on the phone. When I changed my pajero to the new one the call took less than one minute and all was done when I put the phone down. Best people I have ever dealt with!

with sureterm for the last 2 years - and i do have laning cover. the key aspect of the frank pickles quote was that is was a laning specific policy, but obviously needing to be road legal also - and it didn't use my no-claims.all that for £200!
this would have left me to use my no claims on mrs g's car and cut the £1300 premium on that. problem now is that all the quotes now need me to use my ncb

    Re: Shogun insurance

unfortunately not mate - missus has 1year ncb and can only drive an auto as she's only got one hand
i have full ncb in a manual
looks like i'll just have to suck up the premiums for another year
i may have to just get an auto shogun and share
