Re: Apocalypse KITH or Build along ?
Ha ha indeed
Oh when my love, my darling, You've left me here alone,
I'll walk the streets of London, Which once seemed all our own.
The vast suburban churches, Together we have found
Jack Burton: Just remember what ol' Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big ol' storm right square in the eye and he says, "Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it."

Re: Apocalypse KITH or Build along ?
Okay puukko got me going so here goes.
I woke this morning to a most shocking reality. I thought we were safe over here in the States from all the gloom and doom across the pond, but post-apocalyptic hell has apparently arrived on our shores as well. I've been stuck inside my house all day plotting about my survival, hoping, just hoping that it is all just a dream. All my hopes came crashing down when I was accosted by some fell beast resembling a cross between a honey badger and a wolverine sleeping in my bed. Luckily, the beast turned out to be merely the mutated form of my hound pup and is quite fond of belly rubs.

She grows bigger, meaner, and listens to my commands less as time goes by (as is customary with females of all species). I don't know how long I will be able to feed her and sate the beast. I have made a list of provisions that I would need to ensure my survival as well as keep the deranged hellhound sated. I shall continue my search tomorrow and report back with any loot I can acquire. My only hope is that I will have enough goods to trade for my so desperately needed material that I don't have to resort to the world oldest profession cause those post apocalyptic women look rough. Like Susan Boyle rough. I shudder to think of that option. I wonder if I will be able to sleep tonight with my thoughts centering around Susan Boyle. I'll be having nightmares for sure. As my Eyes close an I drift off to sleep the only thing going through my mind is this:
I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different not from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed
Yup, I'm having nightmares for sure.

Re: Apocalypse KITH or Build along ?
Bridger brave soul these days any beast that is even remotely friendly is a rare find indeed !!
Feed the beast and give it belly rubs and try to win its assistance, perhaps this semi-friendly brute can be harnessed and used to help with the removal and moving of tree stumps, large boulders, overturned semi trailers. Any help we can find, from any corner, should be used to go from one day to the next, just beware the cost and don't over pay !!
And our call to duty this day, every day is to find things and make other things from these things we find !! And then show them here !!
Young Bridger follow The Laws of Tool Making as laid out by Ru Titley, so he has written and so it shall be done, and give your life meaning. Yes, there no longer is Elite British League Soccer on cable TV but our lives now have a different focus, one perhaps we never could have imagined.
I don't know who this Susan Boyle lady is but if she's not trying to kill and eat you then there's no need for her to be in any nightmares, there are darker demons these post apocalyptic days to fill our nights with restless sleep.
If you can try to find the lyrics to that old Beach Boys song, and let this play in your now troubled head,
Seldom stumble, never crumble
Try to tumble, life's a rumble
Feel the stinging I've been given
Never ending, unrelenting
Heartbreak searing, always fearing
Never caring, persevering
Sail on, sail on sailorOld Norwegian proverb:

Re: Apocalypse KITH or Build along ?
Toppled power poles have become a common landscape feature, a new hobby I've acquired during these End of Days is unscrewing and collecting these ceramic power line insulators ?

They remind me of the beautiful decorative mosaic pins once made by GavinSingh
Pretty things, I'll shine them up and they'll be shiny pretty things, yes, shiny pretty things ...Old Norwegian proverb:

Re: Apocalypse KITH or Build along ?
My Name is Tad and I am of the Sand Pack . We live in the caves on the Cliffs where the toxic land meets the Great Wet .

I am the Maker of the Packs Fangs , I am the finder of the paths to the ways that were lost , A hunter of those that can be eaten and a Stealer of Mens souls .
When the giant fire of the Sky warms us from the perment Winter our bravest venture to the Badlands insearch of supplies .

But we do not stay long , tales are told to the Cubs of the Pack of those that dwell in the badlands, the Wyrdlings and Meldlings and the Canni -bals .
We give praise to the Great Wet for providing us with the means to live , the items of Old that crumble into the red dust with time with which we make Our Fangs .

. These We find on the sand as we find our food of plant and beast .
They are soft but easy to add 'the bite 'with a filing compared to the fangs of Our fore Fathers who held the secrets of the flaming steel but that was lost as are all things in the Long Winter or so the El-da's say.

Our Fore fathers were the owners of ' the Good Kit' , they fore saw the coming troubles and new that the Long winter would fall upon the Land of the Brit -esh .
Today I make a new fang for My own Cub

but there is still much work to be done before He may carry it ,
We are now the El-da's of the Sand pack and are now the users of 'the Good Kit ', blessed be to the Rhino .LEATHER & KYDEX SHEATH MAKER !

Re: Apocalypse KITH or Build along ?
So , here am I Dagr of Clan 66 scraping for days on the spring of conveyance only to find I would have to scrap for another whole moon cycle. I found digging around in the man of middle grounds conveyance abode a half a ground double knives and as it was already shaped threw the spring to one side. I think the ground double knife was used to give the grass of the land a haircut.
So for for two more days scraping a ground knife I have finished .
The handle is of conveyance wheel part used to support itself and also of red metal string ussually found in the walls to carry the buzz energy.
Kutter needs a cover still.

'His knife see rustic Labour dight, An' cut ye up wi' ready slight, Trenching your gushing entrails bright, Like onie ditch;
And then, O what a glorious sight, Warm-reeking, rich!' ..................Robert burns extract from the address to a haggis.
