Farr and Away, an homage bowie

Many of you will remember this knife, I'm sure ...

    http://www.britishblades.com/forums/...highlight=farr

I always loved the lines of it, but comp knives developed away from blades that look like a bowie and into the cleaver style that has proven to be more effective so I never got around to making a similar blade for myself as I might have liked to do.

Then a couple of months ago I was asked by a customer to do just that as a commissioned piece .. My version of the very knife that I had lusted after.

So, here she is, ready for the customer to collect on Friday.
10 1/2" of blade made from 6mm thick 01 with a rubbed finish, guard of stainless steel with spacers of black G10 and nickel silver, handle is stippled and is of stabilised walnut (from Pikebite) with a 1/4" nickel silver mosaic pin.

I hope he likes it !
If it's not sharp, it's just a piece of metal.

I'm sure if he doesn't there will be a line of takers for it. Nice Ian!! Love that handle.

    ..........."this is a knife"

Bloody gorgeous, Ian, I don't don't doubt you are chuffed to bits with that as well as lusting after it

Not OTT, just a knife that says it all.

    (sheath for it too.........?)

Chui .... No sheath from me. The customer has decided to make his own. I just hope he does so before too long. It's ... erm..... a bit sharp
