I thought the reviews for this Methylated Spirit that had been posted in amazons 'grocery' section quite funny

I think it's got castor oil in .

Didn't old racing bikes use castor oil?

Not sure, i know they used castor in aircraft with old piston engines, but stopped in the end as you had to replace bearings and all sorts quite quickly as a crappy residue builds up. Probably the reason they dont use it in everyday engine oil.

Though apparently the name Castrol they did take from 'Castor'...or so wiki tells me

I only ever use Methylated spirits too. I get it from my local little hardware store, only £1.50 for 500ml.

I taught a mate how to make a pop can stove. His first one worked great, with some of my meths.

He then went home with it and used white sprit in it. One word DON'T! it gets everything really sooty and burns alot colder than meths. My mate also said it stinks when burned too, I can't comment on that as I've never burnt it, the only thing I really use it for is cleaning stuff, best sticky stuff remover out ther.
I wonder what would happen if tentacles were involved…
