Re: Advertising Knives
Smiling-Knife, your Schweppes opener reminded me of a piece I inherited from my grandfather. I carried it on a keyring for 20-some years before I quit drinking.
One thing about Grandpa: he wasn't a quitter.
I never saw him without a case of warm Stroh's beer next to his easy chair, and a long-neck bottle in his hand.

Re: Advertising Knives
Nice knives Dave. Here are a few knives advertising champagne. The little one is made by John Watts of Sheffield.

I'm afraid I had to group shots but this all I have at the moment aside from one ivory scaled Ibberson that I forgot to take pictures of. In most cases I only pictured the most interesting side.

Re: Advertising Knives
this one has a weird back spring and tang grind without a nail nick on the blades. I had two and kept the best one but I have no idea how you are supposed to open the blades. I've been fishing them open with a wire. Ideas anyone?

Re: Advertising Knives
I am amazed by seeing such a lot of qaulity advertising knives! In SA AND IN MY TOWN SINCE CHILDHOOD YOU SAW CHEAP (hate capps lock) china made and made in hong kong knives. We grew up with Sheffield knives, some German made and some made in Checkoslovakia?(spelling)Hells bells, you are fortunate and rich in history and in your knives.
Gave more than a hundred and some away some time ago (some DOWs,Klaas and Master knives that i thought were crap)and a lot were china replicas of the Puma 110 and most were advertising knives.Sorry to butt in here but had to say this.

This Camillus USA knife with a three line stamp and a short line underline of Camillus dates to 1946-50 according to my sources.
