    Archers Chisel Knife

I was recently asked to come up with a solution to the problem of a longbow-man needing to occasionally dig arrows out of a hardwood target support. We figured that no matter how well made, and whatever thickness the stock, the weakness would be in a sharp (and therefore thin) point. Digging repeatedly into hardwood and then using a prying action would be the downfall of just about any thin point. A thick point would prove too difficult to get into the wood to be efficient ..... so ...

    ... I added a 10mm chisel to the tip

Made of 4mm stock, scandi ground, and handled with ebony and 1/4" brass hidden bolts ...

I'm awaiting field test reports from the new owner, but it's an interesting experiment
If it's not sharp, it's just a piece of metal.

www.longstrider.co.uk is now up and running :)

That looks like a bloody good solution to the problem there. Hope it works as well as it looks it should.

I wonder what the reaction would have been if you'd shown that on April 1st!

I would like to see what the field test reports are like , but I think it'll work just fine. Very inventive.
