I'll be interested in the replies too, my folks tried a DAB radio a few years ago, the reception was rubbish, hopefully things have changed? I still think that they eat batteries though??
Finally made my first knife!

Far better off with a normal FM radio when out and about. DAB radio has notorious poor reception and is likely worse in the sticks.

Re: recommend me a dab radio.
I think a lot of us are in the same boat and waiting for the technology to provide a useable network and battery life
So I continue with my little Phillips headphone only FM/AM radio
I hike a lot so weight is also an issue but radio is my little luxury and BBC 6 music is one of my favourite radio stations
So I have always had my eye open for an upgrade
Your post prompted me to have a look around again
And I found this

At that price I am seriously considering it
as anyone here got one?
They also have this with built in speaker which may be of interest to those whom weight and size is not such an issue

“For me and for thousands with similar inclinations, the most important passion of life is the overpowering desire to escape periodically from the clutches of a mechanistic civilization. To us, the enjoyment of solitude, complete independence, and the beauty of undefiled panoramas is absolutely essential to happiness.”

I use either a pure move or one mini both suit me well (I work for Pure so am affiliated) battery life on move is about 40 hours, I can lend you one if you want to try it

+1
After checking on the ukdigitalradio website to see what coverage I got at home I laid out for a Roberts CD/FM/DAB radio. The CD and FM sound fine otherwise it would have gone back because whilst I can get all the stations that the website said I could, the DAB reception is so poor that they all warble and fade in and out like the old pirate radio stations used to. Poor/patchy reception is why DAB doesn't work well in cars either.
Go for FM or if you are going to really wild places get SW.Ask the question and you are a fool for five minutes......don't ask the question and you are a fool for life.

This little FM/SW radio is currently tempting me to part with some cash.
