something a bit different.
This is the second part of the commission i have done for one of our members.
this is one of the most challenging things i have done to date, he wanted a money carrying case that he could carry the different currency that he uses all the time, and he also wanted me to make a compartment so that he could pop his passport in there.
he gave me a free run on this, with embellishment, i sourced the best sued money can buy, and the best stingray that i could get hold of for this, i used premium calf skin leather for this, to keep this a little special.
this is a birthday gift, so i went out my way to make this the best i could, there were times when doing this project especially toward the end when i thought please don't mess up now, as it would have cost a small fortune if i got one stitch wrong or slipped when cutting.
i hope you like it.

Marra,
Now that is some lush craftsmanship.
Not sure bout the girls buckle, but it's not for me.
The time n practice to get to that standard must of took some sweat and tears.
Thank you for showing us my mate, outstanding!

Think someone was pushing you stretch yourself there. Someone who has a lot of faith in your skills. You proved them right! Stunning work yet again.
A lot of work here. Have to say, that tooling you put around the edges really works well on this piece.

Re: something a bit different.
Lee,
Way beyond my expectations. It looks fantastic! You are a genius with leather. I like the buckle :-)

Nice work. Looks a lot better than my attempt at a wallet.

Re: something a bit different.
Amazing work, I don't really like the buckle but the rest is stunning.
Have you ever thought about making wallets like the Saddleback ones?
They seem very popular but the price of importing one from the States put most people off, me included...if you could make them I'm sure they would sell well, I know I would buy one
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

That's a great piece of work Lee. I bet there are a fair few hours in that, but it should last a lifetime!
How did you find working Stingray? The stitching of the inlay must have been a pain, (my own attempts have)"What's money? A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and goes to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do." - Bob Dylan

Re: something a bit different.
Great workmanship.
It does sort of shout "I'm carrying loads of money" though.
