Meyerco Blackie Collins Skinner
just got this in the post today meyerco blackie collins 4-3/4" skinner knife micarta scales it is very very shaving sharp out of the box, the sheath is crap that nylon stuff but i was going to make a new sheath but found this black leather sheath that is perfect for the knife it wont fall out of the sheath when shaken upside down i have cut some hardwood with the knife and when dull just stropt it and it was shaving sharp again, for a knife that is made in china the steel is very good this knife is great value for the money it cost.

Re: Meyerco Blackie Collins Skinner
Shape of blade looks to be fine for skinning.
What steel is it?
I bought a Meyerco kayaking knife designed by Blackie Collins. Of course very much shorter than the skinner.

Re: Meyerco Blackie Collins Skinner
the steel is 7CR17 STAINLESS as i said for a cheap knife made in china it takes and holds a very good edge, i was told that they are made by the rite edge company and when i looked at there wholesalers site in america they do have the same knife, see the web site at the bottom of the page it comes with a leather sheath on this site.
