Searles Project.
This is a WIP series of photos of two big Searles Bowies I made for some special customers.

Prepping a piece of damascus for the guard.

Re: Searles Project.
Second blade done. Had to make another piece of damascus as the first blade cracked clean in half during hardening. I opted for a cross hatch edge pattern which i think came out well.

Thanks for sharing the WIP Stu. The Knives look great, as does the sheaths.

Re: Searles Project.
Your knives are beautiful.
Big fan here of the Searles Bowies. Thought about having a Bowie made in this style, but went with another design in the end. Maybe next time.
What is the function of the half moon shaped cut-out between the blade and handguard, is it just decorative or does it serve a purpose besides that?

Re: Searles Project.
Very cool to see them go from block steel to lovely knife.
