    Re: Millican Dave

First off thank you for the kind words, a few points that have been asked about and a couple of bits i missed

    Sturdy grab handle.

The base of the pack has 2 loops on each side which in conjunction with the walking pole loops on the front, i think you could use them to attach gear to the base of the pack.

Rain cover is in the bottom of the pack.

As for the material i attached Andy & Derek to my spray deck today and the water that dripped from my paddle beeded on the surface before evaporating but i don't think it would take a good dunking if i am honest.

    Thanks lee.

    Re: Millican Dave

I've had the field bag for a few years now and it's wearing really well. A little too small to fit my current laptop in the slip so it has to go in the main compartment but that's not what I bought it for. The stuff is pricey but I'd definitely buy other items and know that in 30 years time I can still be using the same bag with some miles and memories behind it.

    Re: Millican Dave

Excellent review. Thanks a lot for taking the effort plus all of the wonderful photos to give us the full picture. See what I did there?

Being canvas and in a non-black colour I would obviously hate it, but I have to say that I am contemplating what I can sell to buy one. Looks like a wonderful colour.

I should also say that the Belsaff has been wiped from the radar since I saw this bag.

Good review. Thanks for taking the time.
Would like to raise a point though; your dogs are not on a leash and quite frankly those two brutish looking beasts look like they would rip an innocent bystander to shreads at the slightest perceived provocation.

Agreed BladeScout, especially the black and grey one. Looks like it is fed small children for breakfast.

I would be really interested to hear how it works out in the field.

The Mrs has had a Dave for a couple of years now... holding up really well, apart from the fact that one of the chest straps has got lost as it popped off the "piping" it slides on.

Is Dave treated to be water repellant, or does it rely on the rain cover or what look like synthetic linings inside?
I've had mine out in heavy downpours and nothing inside has got wet (but only while commuting, so maybe 20 minutes tops) - iirc the canvas is treated to be a bit shower proof.

One day I'll remember it has a rain cover and use that...
