my first try at making a knife!(Pic Heavy)
i have been trying to make a knife cause you all made me jealous !!so here is the result of it and some progress pictures!!
this was the original design
although the little thingy right under the edge got grinded cause after all i found it kinda useless

this is the result of my newbie work with an angle grinder you will have to excuse me it was my first time with it

after A LOT of work with the file and sand paper and a bit of drill included!

and this is how it ended up looking before i diped it into a varnish-sortOFthingy

Do you know which grade of steel that is? Did you do the heat treating yourself?

i know it is called sleipner and it is from the company uddeholm ( http://www.uddeholm.com/ ) they also did the heat treatment( because i have no barbeque and live in an apartment flat ) .turned out to be 58.5 rockwell

Superb rersult of a first try, mate. The shape is not that easy to work, but you have succeeded to turn out a great looking knife!
