Photobucket Resizing
Hi All,
The proceedure for resizing photos seems to have changed on Photobucket and I'm having trouble getting it right.
There used to be a simple small/medium/large/options when I went to "edit", but now it does seem more complex, and although I thought I had resized (made smaller) my photos to link to the forum, when I actually post they still come out the original size.
Any ideas please? I guess I must be doing something wrong.
Many thanks as always.
Cheers,
Trevor. And remember - the first thing that always goes is the plan.

Re: Photobucket Resizing
Best advice I can give is to do it the way I do which is to resize your pics in something like GIMP (Or Irfanview if you want something a bit simpler) before you upload to Photobucket as the pictures will always be better quality that way and you can guarantee what size they'll actually be.

I know PB has an option to resize pictures when you upload them. Thats how I usually do it.

Re: Photobucket Resizing
I have had this problem with Photo Bucket and when seeing this on another Forum it has been said they have a gliche in their software and much better to use Flickr as it has many more and simpler methods of sending your pics.
Tommy. No matter what we say someone somewhere will take offence but that is their problem.

Re: Photobucket Resizing
I've used Photobucket for years with never a problem (Allowing for the fact that I adjust the pictures before I upload), I have a Flickr account as well but have found it a complete pain to embed photos into a forum post, unlike Photobucket which does it with one click and a quick paste.

This is the key in my experience. If you try to adjust the size after uploading, it takes a while to sort itself out.Allowing for the fact that I adjust the pictures before I upload

Re: Photobucket Resizing
I save them at about 25 - 30% size then 'Save to Web' in Photoshop. Then upload them direct to PBucket

Re: Photobucket Resizing
OK, sorted thanks guys.
I tried what I thought was the easiest option first as suggested by Andy and Warren, and it worked fine.
I'd never noticed the "Customise Upload Options" on Photobucket before and was uploading first and then resizing which was a right pain in the bum.
I can't help being stupid, I was born like it!
Thanks again to all for your suggestions.
