Re: London pub-meet 01st July - Dukes Head, Putney
Great afternoon once again and getting very use to these social events with some of the nicest folks I have ever met.
I must give a special thank you for the gents who made purchases from me which is most encouraging, and for TB_London (Tom) who very kindly put a razor edge on a little experiment of mine.
Very nice indded to meet Steven from SA Blade and have some overseas guests.
I actually went into the wrong pub at first as I wasn't paying attention. Their refurb was very good though..
Nice one Chui..Stay Hungry...

Re: London pub-meet 01st July - Dukes Head, Putney
My first meeting, so thanks to all for making me feel so welcome.
Super venue & a great display of knives.
Thanks to all for alowing the handling of their prized possesions. We can all 'look' at knives all day on the net but getting out there, meeting folk face to face & actualy holding some of these treasures is a real treat. Sorry that I don't remember all the new names but again, thank you gentlemen, some real eye popping stuff!
& CAKE! Well done & happy birthay Dave.
Can't wait for the next one.Last edited by Average Joe; 02-07-12 at 08:01 AM.

Thanks to all for another great meet.
All seemed spot on to me. Met some new people.
Also met some old ones all with a gentle like minded passion.
Cheers.

Re: London pub-meet 01st July - Dukes Head, Putney
Very sorry I missed it.
I turned up at 6pm but you'd all gone by then.
Unfortunately everyone got off to a delayed start. I had chain tension issues and oil change,
and the mate I was supposed to meet at 1 didn't turn up until 2. We had a good chat etc. and met some
old faces who like me hadn't been invited. I got away around 4, but a big crash on the A12 saw traffic blocked both ways and
the "jaws of life" brought out. I had wanted to show my just completed Friction Folder in a Michael Morris style.
4mm Damasteel blade on 6mm G10 scales. Much chunkier than the original and I used a 5.5mm silver steel pivot.
Should be robust enough. I had the forest/jade/olive G10 and tried to reproduce the 'mascus pattern through the handle.
Not sure that it worked like I was expecting and the result isn't too pretty. It will still be my regular EDC from now on.
I'll post some pics later.“I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.”

Well spotted Sam, yes indeed. It got a lot of looks and many of the guys picked it up for a play, asking where I got it from.
It was funny, five knives on my table were given to me by BB members. Some gifts, some from comps. Trevor was most upset about my Russ White folder that I won a little while back, most upset
The lanyard went home with another BB member who liked the colours and the skull
