    Re: Manbag needs

I had the hazard 4 tonto which was amazing quality, doesnt look 'tactical'. I fond it just a little small, doesnt hold a good size water bottle. Its best for just admin stuff. a few tools, maps, money, phone, pens etc.

I now have the original maxP versipack fatboy and its really good. You might be better off with the GTG version which has a water bottle holder. It's chealer and looks les tactical than the original.

5.11 do a push pack which might suit you. its a bit cheaper than both (i think) and each side pocket hold a full size 1 ltr water bottle. Plus its got a bigger main compartment than the other 2.

I wouldnt worry about them being too big.
I am pretty sure that a waist pack would not hold a bottle of water, sun cream and a camera. If they did, your trousers would be falling down.
When you get these things, you realise that you want to carry more than you thought. And these 3 bags are not really that large anyway.
It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt.
    Then it's a sport.

Agreed, if I put a 750ml bottle of water inside, upright, it pops the press studs. I still edc it most days and get on well with it.

I've been meaning to post a review for ages; maybe I'll get round to it now.
I've got an Indy style bag very similar but not quite as well made as that and find it very useful although the addition of a water bottle carrier has expanded it somewhat as you're right, it can be a bit on the small side.

At the moment I'm using a Jumbo Versipack which seems to be doing the trick, but if I did want something a little less tactical then I'd be quite happy to go back to the Indy bag

My next 2 purchases are in the the way of drybags - for the bike like - a big one and a little one

Have a look at Seal Line Urban rucksacks - roll tops. There si a 17L one that might suit you for the beach

All my remaining bag libido focuses on the name Seil Marschall

OTT, but I work in a mixed team, and get jealous of the amount of crap my female colleagues can rummage through
use it for work daily, and on a recent camping trip

i know it isn't quite your requirements, but have you considered one of the "pocket rucksacs" like these:

    waterproof: http://www.ultralightoutdoorgear.co...._day_pack.html

    not-waterproof: http://www.ultralightoutdoorgear.co...._day_pack.html

i find them really useful for holidays and days out.

Like those, but fairly expensive, I've bought similar for about £8 although not waterproof.

    How about an Alpkit Gourdon?
    http://www.alpkit.com/shop/cart.php?...ategory_id=251
tends to be my go to bag when I want to carry a few bits that don't weigh a lot, or going out when it might rain. I use a 5.11 tactical sling bag as a work bag, but find the reduced weight of the Gordon, and its water resistance to be a bonus when out for a walk.
