Waffentechnik Buddy 1
I had recently the chance to try the Buddy 1, in order to write an item for the italian knive’s magazine “Coltelli”. Thought you may be interested about it, especially as I never read something about this knife.

Specs:
Blade: 440A
Handle: Softell
Total lenght: 230 mm
Blade lenght: 100 mm
Blade tickness: 4,5 mm
Weight: 290 gr
The Buddy 1 it’s an interesting, compact (4” blade), robust, all-around camp knife that can help you also on hunting activities (i.e. skinning) due to the blade shape. The knife in hand is comfortable, due to the contoured handle and the soft material used for

As a “survival” knife, I used the Buddy 1 to realize a spring snare trap

and some feather-sticks as well

The sheath has a sort of “pad” internally, it’s the first time I saw something similar, great to avoid the “rattle” boring sound of some kydex sheath

and a sort of tek-lock system

In conclusion a nice compact fixed blade, comfortable, and a good wood cutter too. Good feeling on the sheath too. I found the tang’s shape a bit annoying on my pinky.
Ciao,
Alfredo

Nice review. Good pics.
Looks like a simple clean knife with plenty of belly.
A good user without any silly marketing gizmos.
Interesting belt attachment too.
Looks a bit like the Tek-Lok, as you mentiond.
Any more pics of the belt attachment?

Thanks for the review. It looks like a reasonable budget option for a corrosion-prone environment. Of course, if it isn't in the budget price range, that's a different matter.
