just click the reply button, it cuts down on all that redundancy

Mine has too. Just a quick click on the orange '+ Reply to Thread' opens the box up though.

Apologies - I wasn't suggesting you didn't!
Just the first time I have ever used the orange button.

I wonder if it's a permanent thing? Doesn't overly encourage responses to people's posts, but perhaps that is the aim.
