Gerber Profile
Hi folks
Just seen this at HH, the Gerber Profile:
http://www.heinnie.com/Profile/p--8475/
I think it's a very nice looking folder, quite big too. Obviously the steel is more than a bit vague and Gerber haven't had a good rep for folders for a while, but I quite fancy it for the price.
Anyone had one and care to comment?

Re: Gerber Profile
After the Paraframe, I feared the worst....., but thats not too bad! I like that 'scoop' for the index finger.

Re: Gerber Profile
I'm not a huge fan of thumb studs any more, but when there is a stud it's nice to have it tucked in close to the handle like that.
I wouldn't go for a stainless knife as I would want a locking folder to have better steel. But I like the design. It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt.
Then it's a sport.

As daft as it sounds....
I think I have one of these... Lol
I bought it and a fixed blade version last time I was in las Vegas ...
It's a very nice knife in the hand, I was always a bit iffy over the blade coating so it's not had a great deal of use....
I'll dig it out and have a bit of a play....
It must be at least 3 years old now....
Probly near 4...."I told him, 'Son, what is it with you??.... Is it ignorance or apathy?' He said, ' I don't know and I don't care.'"

Re: Gerber Profile
I sharpen one of these for a work colleage, easily sharpens but dos,nt hold an edge for long but is better than a paraframe which are awfull. The handle feels very nice in hand but the liners are thin, its also bigger than it looks it all depends what you would use it for really

Re: Gerber Profile
I bought one last year, and it feels quite good in the hand , came with a pouch, would be a winner if the steel was a bit better, nice n sharp though, but bigger than it looks.

Re: Gerber Profile
Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of Gary19 I now have one of these knives sitting in front of me.
I'm very impressed indeed with it. It's a good handful, and the rubbery scales make for a very comfy grip indeed. There's jimping on the scales and spine too, and big thumbstuds which also act as stops in a Butch Vallotton style. Blade is a great shape, lovely and pointy and swedgy for those of us who like that sort of thing. The sheath is decent too.
Many thanks to Gary and I think that for the price from HH this is a knife that most people would be pleased with.
