80 year old boker
Hi,
Hope I've got the correct forum page.
Yesterday while clearing out my dads loft we came across a very old boker sailors kife with a bone handle, my dads now 69 and it was given to him when he was 9 by a sailor from world war 2, so it could be very old.
Because its been left the blades looking a bit sorry for its self, it's a little pitted and has light powdery rust over the blade, knife still perfectly functional and still sharp.
What's the best way to clean or polish the blade up - if at all
Thanks for any advise

Re: 80 year old boker
As always with old weapons: LEAVE IT ALONE! If it is worth any money, you fiddling with the patina will destroy the value.
If it is from WWII, then you would probably have more luck posting the thread here: http://www.britishblades.com/forums/...-amp-Militaria.
Edit: WWII hadn't started 1932, so it isn't 80 years old

No it's at least that - my dads 69 and he was given it at 9 years of age, the guy who gave it him had it or 20 ish years, so it could be even older
