pocket stone - too much choice?
I'm looking to put together a pocket set for my bush-wandering bag
I've owned DC stones in the past but didn't get on perfectly with them so i'm wondering what my other options were
anyone own a Gatco Arkansas Pocket Stone or can recommend something similar?Mess with nature at your peril for you are small and biodegradable

I like the DMT diafolds. Two grits in one, fast cutting and small.

I have had good results from Spyderco DoubleStuff stones
Nice and portable, two different grits and the pouch can be used as a strop and loaded with paste if needs be.Remaining positive will set you apart

I bought a set of DMT's a couple of months ago, they really are compact, lightweight and efficient. They're not exactly cheap, but not overly expensive either.
Das Obengenannte ist nicht spülmaschinenfest.

I'm from the US,
and I constantly hear good things about the Arkansas Pocket Stone.
Just thinking about buying one recently as well, but I will wait until the outcome of the other thread I just opened.
Looking for some finality on what the best way to sharpen your knife is, blade health wise, long term, easiest, best value, etc. Trying to nip this sharpening issue in the bud.

arkansas translucent is more an edge finisher/polisher tho exceeded in fineness by the arkansas black variety
modern arkansas white, the solid whites, are coarser but
for field carry i think id want more cut, like the diamond bit off a DC4, or a small DMT, they can be got in a variety of smaller sizes
AND a nice bit of the older translucent arkansas
which ive got a nice piece of yer welcome to try, see if u get along with it
its a good size n shape for carry, a slipstoneLast edited by etorix; 30-06-12 at 08:12 AM.
