    Re: Opinel n° 8 Outdoor

At this point I experienced some issues, in fact: the Rotoblock doesn’t work so well, because it’s angle of rotation is just few degrees

The "virobloc" locking safety collar is better turned in the other direction, then the collar is locked solidly against the handle having more support, rather than a bit springy because of the cut out that is used to locks the blade closed.
In this case it "might" have saved injury.

Greenmanbushcraft seems to have them in stock.

The fact it's partly orange has nothing to do with it, of course

I like the orange for sure but there's a lot of orange knives I'm not keen on!

I just like the modernised look, and whereas I'm a purist with SAK's I'm not with Opinels. There used to be a company called Robinson who made a version of the Opinel with different coloured plastic handles. Some knives had two blades opening from either end, some a blade and woodsaw, which I've always thought Opinel should do.

So nice to see this modern take on the knife from Opinel themselves.

    Facosa-Robinson cote a cote

Not a wood saw but serrations. I believe they also did a smaller "Splash" model.
In my opinion it's the best lightweight camping kitchen knife, sadly no longer being made.

    Thanks for that!

First picture of a "real" one I think I have seen. Opinel should make those, and with a proper saw too.

As Danzo says, if Opinel did one of those with a proper sawblade, that would be proper useful!

Forgot, that's a plain screwdriver on the end of the serrated blade too........

If made with a saw I think it'd need to be bigger, that serrated blade is only 80mm.

Saw blade on a SAK probably isn't much bigger and I've done some fairly efficient pruning with one of those before.
