Wild Woodland Camping
Does anyone have a recommendation for where I could take a few friends wild woodland camping for a weekend? The south of England is more convenient but I am sure others would love tips for other parts of the uk.
Knifes and campsites don't mix well.
Thanks in advance.

I go to forgewood camping near Tunbridge wells, its not the cheapest at £12.50 a night (plus a fiver for a bag of wood - enough for a couple of nights), but its a campsite with fields and woods to camp in thats bushcraft friendly.
Ive been going there for the last couple of years, the last time I was there I didnt see a soul for 2 days and nobody bats an eyelid at wearing a knife on your belt.

Re: Wild Woodland Camping
Contact downe scout campsite, near beckenham kent. They are a wooded site, easy to access from london, bushcraft friendly, and nice place.

Downe is near me. It looks like a scout only place. Is this right or can Joe public go?

Re: Wild Woodland Camping
Sorry, just noticed this. I called downe re a bushcraft trip with friends, they said no prob. Might not hurt to suggest you are linked to the scout assoc. But don't think its an issue. They do team buildibg etc there. Summer will be busy, but spring, autumn, and winter are not busy at all, and they shut the back half of the site- they said they would put us in the shut half, so we could build shelters and drink moderate amounts of fizzy pop without disturbing anyone. Try it out, its a great site.
