Is it possible to convert a wood bandsaw into a belt grinder?

In principle it sounds feasible, both have a motor and two wheels, but so does a motorbike.
Guess it depends on just how much converting you want to do

I would be more inclined to convert a wood bandsaw into a metal bandsaw. very useful kit

Metal cutting yes. I have a wood band saw too and I don't think it would take it, all speed and little torque. With that said if you could get a leather belt to run on one it would make an excellent machine for stroping on.
Some of my past work here :)
