My First Steps Into Customizing: A week of experimenting.
Hello.
I saw some "pimpage" videos on youtube and decided to have a go at etching and scale work. I wasn't really sure on the etching times and techniques but decided to just try and experiment with the materials. Overall Im really happy with how these turned out and it was really fun just to try.
I used ferric chloride for the etching mixed with various masking techniques. Nail polish, tape and acrylic paint. For the scales I used a dremmel.

Very interesting experiments.
I probably would have put the scale pattern from the one on the left with the blade second from the left and vice versa. Dots with dots and lines with lines, etc.
But at least you have these techniques for further pimpage projects“I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.”

Re: My First Steps Into Customizing: A week of experimenting.
Thanks guys.
The sun keeps popping in and out so ill try and grab some shots outside. Ive also noticed that there seems to be a lot of jpeg artefacts from the compression/reductions I did.
Parbajtor: Agreed. It would certainly help one part flow in to the other.

The tuffthumbs stuff is excellent. There is also another guy worth watching called SrJoben that did videos on etching. Its so good to be able to see what others are doing and how they do it.
