Merino wool in neutral colours
its time I replaced my woolpwer merino wool longsleeve T shirt so i thought rather than just buy a direct replacment I'd ask if anyone knows of another maker who does a merino wool long sleeve T (no zip) in neutral colours? Looking for something in khaki,Grey or OD
I've noticed these guys have started to stock Missionpac gear or has anyone tired smartwool?Mess with nature at your peril for you are small and biodegradable

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Re: Merino wool in neutral colours
After 10 years of snowboarding, I'm pretty convinced 'Icebreaker' are the boys to go for. Got into them via snowboarding but now use them for fishing, airsoft, cycling, climbing & travel. The thread is smooth, the weave fine & the overall feel is therefore lighter & softer than equivilents. Unfortunately hard to get & pricy, Snow & rock are best bet. 'Chertsy' Branch always seem to hold a fair amount of stock over & above what is advertised on the net. Worth phoning & perhap a visit.
After experimentation costing hundreds, (buying & trying different styles & weights) I have now settled on the 150 ultra lite Tee shirts as the only stuff you need. The tee shirts in this weight are cracking. Good thermal base but better than that, a super tee shirt in it's own right in hot or cold climates. Use mine as a base in -25 (VT year before last) & top/only in heavy rain/+35 (Thai floods last year.)
Varying colours (got an olive green a few months ago) & long sleaves are available. I think they do a 200 but I'd stear clear as this is a bit too hot.Last edited by Average Joe; 10-08-12 at 07:11 AM.
