    What blade for this handle?

Afternoon folks, I have a metal handle with a scale pattern, it's a very nice shape and is comfortable, despite being a tad small. I have some other knives to finish off first, but for the time I can't spend in the workshop on them I do design work for my next makes, this one I just can't get right. I can't decide on what style blade this handle needs, any suggestions?

The blade would protrude from the right hand side.

It would go nicely with handle, not hugely keen on the blade style though, I'll design it out and see how it works. I kind of want something useble for gaming etc, not sure yet

The hawkbill was simply a suggestion due to the reptile-look of the handle. Not the most practical blade shape, though I do find them excellent for box cutting. When you say gaming, are we talking reenactments?

I think you're on to something there, something to make it snake or lizard like would be nice. No, by gaming I mean something to take apart birds and small animals I only say that because that's what I need, but now you've made me think of it, a sort of reptilian style display knife would be look awesome

Something curvy and swoopy, persian or maybe keris or even golok

A keris might look pretty good, Not sure how you sharpen them though? With steels perhaps?

I'll do a design with a Persian style and a Keris style and see what you think

I usually wrap a piece of broom handle with wet & dry and use that.

[IMG][/IMG] Here is my design, along with my new pencil sharpener The design is called the Rhino, for it's resemblance. I think to make a rhino skin effect I will use a Damascus steel, will make it myself, first time I'll have done it
