Boker+ 42 series: anybody knows what the 42 stands for?
Well, apparently it is referring to the article 42a of the German weapon law. A bit like calling our UKPK the S139 PK in fact. Anybody knows more about this, assuming that's accurate?

There is a clip on YouTube explaining this, I did post it on here some time ago.

The 42 model conforms with article 42a (hence the name) of the German weapon law.
Ask the question and you are a fool for five minutes......don't ask the question and you are a fool for life.

Well I've learned something.
I'd foolishly believed someone who told me it was '4 2 hands' as in 'for two hands'. I should have realised it was a bit odd for a German company to used such and Anglicised abrieviationYou are

I also was led to believe this, that 42 is something to do with a ruling of the law

Re: Boker+ 42 series: anybody knows what the 42 stands for?
Why foolishly??
Both meanings you were given fit in some way.
We live in modern times, even authorities sometime step into the anglicism-trap. But the results sometimes have more character of instant comedy... in the sense of "why being smart when looking cool"
Meanwhile several companies use abreviations like that, think of the Smart plastic-car "for four" or "for two"
Do you recognise and believe that there is existing a very special humour in Germany?
