I got the replacement burner with piezo in today for the Flash. It is the B234 burner and the label states that it is intended for the PCS, Flash, GCS and ZIP. Hope that assists some members.

That's correct- this is the specified burner for those stoves.

That's because that is all that is available in this country, not because they are all sold with the same burner. That one replacement burner is not a like-for-like replacement for all the burners in the range. Take a look at them, the zip, flash and Sol all have different burners. Dont take my word for it, look at them! Or just contact jetboil and ask them if you are in doubt.

The two above are mine, the one on the left is from the Sol and has a wire loop knob, different plastic surround, the regulator, and different mesh, the one on the right is from a PCS/Flash, it has plastic knob, no regulator, different mesh, different piezo position, different metalwork etc. They are not the same - clearly. The burner sold with the jetboil Sol is the only one in the range with the regulator. They call it their "Thermo-Regulate™ Technology" and it's the main reason the Sol is more expensive than the others in the line. The burners on the flash and the zip are not regulated. I'm not making it up.

    From the jetboil websiite...

    http://www.jetboil.com/products/technology

    Thermo-Regulate™ Technology

Jetboil introduces advanced Jetboil Thermo-Regulate™ Burner Technology to deliver consistent heat output down to 20°F (-6°C). Technology available in the Sol Titanium Premium Cooking System and the Sol Advanced Cooking System.

Of the three current burner unit designs, these are the two currently available to the UK as spares -one with and one without Piezo... both with the newer non-mesh burner head (apologies for misquoting the references in post 61-I've amended them now). All are interchangeable.

    and

You can also get an old style burner ( as opposed to burnr unit) replacement

The SOL Burner unit with regulator is not available here as a spare part, though it is available as an upgrade in the US.

Just for fun... here's mine at 11:30 today, on my knee at 4084', -6C and 20kt wind and white out conditions [Pop quiz... where am I?]. Took about five minutes to boil half a litre for coffee (but it was the bottom half of the cartridge)

Not so bad really, better than the high winds we have been getting. The snow was turned to ice on the plateau though, so I had crampons on in anger all day. The black bit of the cairn is a heated weather sensor -it does a thunderbirds Tracy island trick and sticks out an aneometer every so often... takes you by surprise!

I have the Sol burner (and all of the others) in my office which will be offered as a range of spares. All are available via the UK distributor.

My free JB still hasn't arrived yet though!
