Sounds like a job for Spyderco. A nice 2 1/4" slippy.

The Spyderco Traveller. or Travel Companion.

Maybe part of their multi blade project. I recommend a corkscrew and my front door key.

The comments on Yahoo... Are they really still outlawing bottled water and nail clippers?? Wonders never cease.

I learnt a new phrase today, "Security theater". ^O^

    Yep.

You don't think, in the current world, that a hijack attempt with a knife would go anywhere beyond "I have a knife, I am taking this plane over..."

Anyone seen the Kevin Bridges sketch where he talking about terrorists trying to hijack a flight from Glasgow to Magaluf?
    Sums it up for me!

Anyone know how 'wide' the blade is on a Subcom 42?

Nice to have some relative sense coming back at last to the world of flying knives.

Bottom of this image here shows their interpretation of 'blade length':
"The blade length is measured as a straight line extending from the tip of the blade to the forward-most aspect of the hilt or handle"

Northwoods are quick on the mark and with a very user friendly name as well; the "Bullet Jack"

    Pocket knives on US flights

Just heard on the news that pocket knives of a certain size are to be allowed on US internal flights, a change in the right direction.
