    Perry McGee Tracking Knife

    Hi All,
Has anybody seen Perry NcGee's Tracking knife as it's taken my fancy mainly the MK1 bright polish, the MK2 is the same just with a black teflon coating. I ask this as I was out on the mountain today with dog doing a little bunny tracking,I only thought to post after a contemplation in the "man's office" while reading Bushcraft and Survival mag as it had page regarding Perry and the up coming Bushcraft Show this weekend coming.
To me there is only one down side and it's a biggie in that it's made by the same people who were tasked with making the "Chris Caine Survival Knife" the one and only Samuel Staniforth.

Any other info from the collective( sorry have been on a scifi binge) will be most welcome.

Why does it have ruler markings and holes in the blade?

Designed for multiple use and practicality, the MK1 Pro-tracker can be used as a cutting implement.
Fairly nice that it can be used as a cutting implement.

    What a hideous knife!

It looks like the unwanted illegitimate product of the rape of a Parang by the office hole punch!

The MK 1 tool, if used in conjunction with carabineers and rope, can provide secure anchorage

I actually got shivers looking at this... This is the most ugly looking knife I have ever seen

...Well apart from the one I tried making last summer

It just looks so...wrong? Deformed even!

    The only downside ? I'd say that's a landslide .

Ye Gods, that is brutally ugly.

footprint depth measurer and pace beads???? What on earth... And to think that I dismissed hollow handled survival knives on the strength of being gimmicky. I really had no idea just how much bull**** (and lunatics) really are out there. And imagine being the one that agrees to actually make this.

    Re: Perry McGee Tracking Knife

The tragedy is that newcomers to knives might see that, and think that is representive of UK knife making...
By all means have measurers and pace wotsits, but make the thing look like it has asthetic appeal...

I apologise if I sound insulting, as I hate it when others give negative and non-tactful criticism...
