"Warning" guardless feather pattern blade with frame handle :)

I posted this knife on forums in the states and got a lot of static because it had no guard. But that was the idea; I wanted the blade to
sproute from the handle with no guard to interupt the view along the blade. Its wonderful to hold in the hand.
    Your critique is welcome.
    Thanks for looking, Fred
    OAL 8 1/2 inches

Blade steel 220 layers 1084X15n20 feather pattern.

Handle is of frame construction using copper black G10 with snake wood scales.

This is my fourth knife of the year. I'm not noted for my blazing speed.

Pay no notice to the naysayers chief, that is a item of exquisite beauty.
To me it looks like the blade has just sprouted from the handle.
    Really good job.

Very interesting looking knife. The handle construction is very different. I imagine it is quite weighty.

Thank you gentlemen! Thomas the center copper is 1/8 inch thick so it did start out with a bit of weight. I skeltonized the copper which left the balance just forward of the lip of the handle. Fred

Would love to see a picture of this - handle down to blade tip - to enjoy the great visual effect that feather damascus must give!

Check back late tomorrow and I will get some shots down both edges. It is a lovely view. This blade was hot blued which makes the pattern leap off the blade. Fred

I really like that and as said very interesting in style. With the frame handle it has a hint of an antique James Black Bowie, but with a beautiful modern contemporary design of blade and pattern.

Amazing. The spine alone is worth the price of admission.
    That's some real artistry.

That feather blade is wonderful. I really like the idea of the Bowie shape without a guard, it makes it look a lot more of a natural flow from the handle across that amazing spine.

    Very well done!

It's a great knife Fred. Having no guard, I think would make it more usable.

Thank you very much for the additional pictures : looks like a "feather - thrower" coming out of the handles - sublime!! If you got static for this knife give'm flagg!!!!

Sublime achievement - as said above = useful artistry!
