Indonesian traditional knives
just for fun guys,

some of the famous Indo traditional knives, usually they made from truck spring layers, and i when i asked the knifemaker, most of them are very very traditional (they even cannot write and read), they dont know the material name, just mention some source i.e spring layers and railway steels
this knifemaker (pic) have made knives for royal jordanian army, and just kew that there are many kind of steels after i introduce him to some references that i got from bb. i am getting confused when he talked about hardening terms that totally difference from what ive heard here, of course in indonesian terms
.
anyway, just enjoy it guys.

Re: Indonesian traditional knives
Ooh, lovely! I'm very keen on SE Asian knives in general. Much under-rated and not discussed enough IMHO.

EDIT: why doesn't a link to a single page at Heinnies ever work?

Re: Indonesian traditional knives
Hey PTS652003, Wots this one then.?? It was given to me last year, and it is supposedly named after the Philipino chief who stuck it up Magellan's nether regions, thereby killing him doh.!!!
It might be a bit difficult to see, as the top edge was lying on the (rubbishy) sheath..

And these are my
Philipino Balisongs.... SWMBO brought the bigger one back from
Cebu... The smaller ones were what I was really after, but who's
complaining...!!

Mackem? No one understands that, even Mackems, and Geordies only understand each other, most of the time. The rest of us just nod and smile.
