For me, I am having difficulty in the US finding a diamond awl blade that is really small. I purchased the Tandy / Craftool awl with the standard 4 blades. It came with 2 diamond blades and they are both too big. I ended up filing down the lacing fid and it works, but the thickness is too large. If anyone can recommend a place to purchase the smallest diamond awl blade, that would be cool. Even if I have to purchase the haft and blade that would be ok.

I have an awl made from a small screwdriver, the ones used for glasses. Might give that a try if you really need a small awl.

I have been reading this tutorial,when you said a slanted stitch that knots inside the leather.Is it a half knot ? I am unsure
