Re: Bardsters Spring Bank Holiday May 27th - 30th

From what Paul was saying it doesn't sound like the owner of the site is accepting any money for us being there - Would it be appropriate to send him one of the forum knives, or some other gesture of thanks from the forum?

The owner allows Paul (Bardster) to use the money collected from us to maintain and enhance the site as he sees fit. We should remember that whilst the meet-ups are advertised on both BB and EM they are not actually associated with any forum. I'm not saying we shouldn't make a gesture but I think the best way to do that would be for more people to attend the events then even more money could be invested in maintaining the site.

John I understood that and I'm not suggesting the funds collected from the meets should be used

I'd happily cover the cost of a forum knife for example, also not speaking for any other forum or group who attend, just think it is such a great experience for members of this forum it seems remiss not to send something on behalf of BB in thanks every now and again.

You will have to buy a mini bus next year, then we would fill the place!

    Nor was I Greg.

In post #61 you said that you thought the owner wasn't accepting any money for us being there and I was simply trying to explain what happened to the money Paul collected.

My gesture comment was trying to say that the best thank you the owner could have from us is for the site to be used more......minibuses galore!!!!!

Was that on the slimy bluebells? I nearly ended up on my arse a few times getting some wood out.

John, Paul said he'd put his PP up in here for some payment towards the site.

Ouch! Still, if you're a ditch dweller...

I'll drop Paul a PM, I had no cash on me.

Mick is correct Rich, Paul has done that so the people that for whatever reason didn't pay on the weekend can do so now.

John, would you do the honours for this lovely annual event?

I'm going to be nudging Mr Laser (off to Iron Maiden that weekend, but he can get up there ), Beachlover, DD, Zorro and Chris, Marc and family, Lathedog, rjt, Mick Spain (ditch dweller and quaffer of Johns bourbon), Greg656, TrevB and Colette et al to come to the lovely field. And Sir Bardster of course.

Whether we get the South Island dweller, I don't know, but it's always a great weekend.
