    I'll let go the contest attempt.

    However, I suspect that either the pivot pin or pivot pin hole in the tang are worn.

    Looks like the Shropshire Slasher found your hand a couple nights ago too.
    Once in a while you can get shown the light, in the strangest of places, if you look at it right...

    I've had the same problem with a few knives all i did was use a dremel to sand down a little bit off of the kicker on the blade but that might not work on the little blade

    The kick of the blades need to be removed a tad...
    That is the bit behind the ricasso, that is proud...
    A little judicious grinding will lower the blades into the handle, but keep the steel cool, and go slowly, and try the fit OFTEN...
    TOO much grinding, and the blade will close into the handle and be hard to get out...

    wthout seeing the knife here in fount of me its hard to tell But I would strip the thing down and replace the pins and anything else that looks worn.
